Steckle Heritage Farm hosts its first annual Winter Fun Day on Family Day February 20th, 2012

Family Day on February 20th, 2012 will bring a Winter Fun Day to Steckle Heritage Farm.  The event will focus on old fashioned winter fun for the family from 10am to 2pm.  The event is free of charge, and will have many activities for the family such as snow sculpture, crafts and visiting with our animals.  A highlight of the event will be having two talented local story tellers of the Baden Storytellers Guild sharing their tales in the Honey House beside the fireplace at 11am and 1pm.  Our guest storytellers are Carolyn Wilker, storyteller and author of Once Upon a Sandbox and Derek Brisland, sharing Frog and Toad stories.  Our gentle slope will be set up for tobogganing so don’t forget to pack your equipment.  You are also welcome to try out snowshoes and cross-country skis at this free winter event.  Hot chocolate and snacks will be available for a small charge.

The event is at Steckle Heritage Farm from 10am to 2pm.  Parking is at 226 McIntyre Drive.  Scheduling information will be posted on our website at  www.stecklehomestead.ca. and also on Facebook www.facebook.com/steckle.
